Chapter24: Censorship and access to expression

What I expect to learn:

I expect to learn the meaning of censorship.

Book Review:

     Censorship has many use in the life on people. Most especially when it comes to privacy, protection, and respect, censorship takes place in the act for this things to be observed. Now based from Wikipedia as my source of information, Censorship is the suppression of speech or deletion of communicative material which may be considered objectionable, harmful, sensitive, or inconvenient to the government or media organizations as determined by a censor. This definition also tells about the respect, privacy, and protection of every individual who might be involved. In connection with the internet, the internet also has its way of censorship. It is the control of publishing or accessing different data and information in the internet. Overall, i still understand it as a means of protection.

     I do believe that some things which undergoes censorship are basically wrong things, or wrong doings. The reason why it undergoes censorship is for it once again to be protected. Of course, who doesn't want to have privacy in their lives. I think, one example is the issues which had just happened a week ago wherein a showbiz star accidentally exposed a private part of a body. This is a lady i am talking about here. The pictures are already widespread in the internet all of a sudden but with the help of technology and the concerned people, copies were censored and at least the protection of the involved person were somehow practiced and putted into act. That is how important censorship is.

     To sum it all, censorship to expression is an important thing. Also, with the help of technology, it can be used and utilized well by the people.
